Design wall Monday

ok……

NOTHING on the wall of floor this week

am madly prepping hexagons and will try for a marathon piecing session before Sunday (my workshop day!!)

have purchased a laarge piece of Quilter’s Flannel for the portable design wall, that will hold quilts from next Monday

and here is the reason I can’t use the design floor…..

Miss L

my new exercise buddy

an 8-ish month old Shar Pei

we are fostering her through Shar Pei Rescue

as you can imagine, loose ANYTHING is a potential puppy plaything

so drop by Patchwork Times to see what other people have been up to

Design wall/floor

Still don’t have access to either the temporary or permanent design walls

Finished the binding on my first hexie quilt, husband draped it over the sofa for its picture

and an awkward picture of “Insanity II”, front-room floor is the only space in the house where we can lay it our flat

it’s GROUNDHOG Day!!!

but only once this year :)

February 2, 2011 / chris-the-quilter

and the February pick is…..

#10 on my UFO list

it’s the Cowboy Kaleido

have made some progress with my machine quilting, another hour or two and I’ll be ready to take it along to my guild and hand-sew the binding down tonight

then it’s back to the “Insanity”, workshop on the 20th

after that , it’s YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :)

Gratitudes

machine is working, it’s temperamental, but it’s mine
a wealth of fabric
husband who can fix my machine, and unpick bad quilting
school back on Friday, more time in the Studio

UFO Challenge, January update

quilt loaded with backing and batting

as far as the eye can see....

This is UFO #6, “Shelley’s Flower Garden” from Australian Patchwork & Stitching, Vol. 6#3, not sure what year/month though

back is pieced, binding made, and it’s loaded onto the Short-Arm

and that’s where things went awry

new needle, newly wound bobbin, and new reel of quilting thread

and HUGE tension problems

husband says it could be a humidity problem, there have been a few days of over 100 degrees this month

enough to make the floor-boards mis-behave, so why not quilting cotton?

…so much for show-n-tell this month I guess

design wall Monday

It’s Monday in the US, and that means heading to Judy’s blog for a virtual tour

as for me…..my (temporary) design wall is gone!!

have moved the family room around and there is nowhere to hang the backdrop at the moment

it should be back in service next week

figures aren’t good, I’ve added 156 hexagons to “Insanity II”, sounds better when I say that is another 1.5% of the total added to the quilt though

also been a prepping fool, weather has been hot the last couple of days, good for napping and prepping, not so much nursing the quilt……
